Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL-equipped Driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. The role emphasizes safety inspections, proper documentation, and proactive communication with dispatch and sales teams to generate additional business.

You will operate tractor-trailers (including doubles where allowed), handle freight with forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and hazardous materials rules. Physical effort is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements (Automatic transmission restriction allowed).
• 1 year experience within the most recent 3 years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements and MVR standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies to/from tractors or trailers.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed; complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures; communicate with dispatch and customers.
• Demonstrate customer service and solicit additional business.
