Job summary

The role requires a CDL A or CLP, a safe MVR, and DOT regulatory compliance. You must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, communicate effectively, and follow dispatch instructions while supporting customers and handling freight securely.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP).
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch on delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Provide internal and external customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs.
