Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is hiring a CDL Driver Apprentice in Rutland, VT. You will enroll in the CDL program, obtain a Commercial Driver’s Permit, and train alongside a Driver Trainer to safely operate a commercial vehicle.

The company covers training costs, offers a Career Pathways program, and provides a supportive onboarding culture at the Rutland home office. The starting wage is $24 per hour with room for advancement and safety bonuses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 18+ years old.
• Must hold state CDL Driver’s Class B with air brake endorsement or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Legal to work in the United States; successful pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post trip inspections and ensure safety equipment is operable.
• Operate and support various commercial trucks per safety standards.
• Provide courteous customer service and professional communication.
• Complete route paperwork and end-of-day documentation accurately.
• Follow route assignments and maintain vehicle appearance and readiness.
