FedEx Freight in Wisconsin seeks a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work. Through education and skills development, you'll become proficient in truck operations.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, hooking trailers, freight handling, securing cargo, completing documentation, and communicating with Dispatch. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and adherence to DOT regulations.

Competenze

• Must possess a Class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP).
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regs.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift approximately 100 pounds for trailer sets several times daily.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Mansioni

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, equipment issues, etc.
• Provide internal/external customer service and identify additional business opportunities.
• Where needed, perform road driver or freight handler duties.
