Job summary

Amcor in New York is seeking a Warehouse Tech to maintain a safe, clean, and accurate warehouse and shipping environment. You will drive trucks to outside warehouses, move trailers on site, operate barcode scanners, and ensure traceability of materials.

The role requires forklift certification, strict adherence to GMP and SQF standards, and vigilant safety inspections. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement and respond to emergencies while upholding Amcor’s values.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification required and must have passed written test and site certification.
• Experience with safety inspections of equipment and adherence to GMP/SQF standards.
• Ability to operate scanning/barcoding equipment for traceability.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck to and from outside warehouses and move trailers on site.
• Perform on-site forklift operations and battery care per procedure.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure GMP, SQF, and food safety compliance.
• Record and maintain Driver’s Daily Log; ensure traceability with barcode scans.
• Identify and report nonconformities; initiate corrective actions through proper channels.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain security of facility and equipment.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to maintain a safe, clean, and accurate warehouse and shipping environment.

• Must be able to perform the Work Instructions listed under Warehouse Tech.
• Drives truck to and from outside warehouses.
• Moves trucks on site as needed including Maintenance trailer and other trailers when full and replace with empty trailers.
• Transport scrap materials and scrap regrind to and from outside warehouse as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections as required such as fork lifts, dock boards, dock locks, chocks, lights, tractor and trailers.
• Operate scanning and bar-coding equipment to obtain traceability.
• Complete Driver’s Daily Log for hours of service.
• Must be certified to operate a fork lift under the Powered Industrial Truck Standard. Must have been trained and successfully passed the written test, performance evaluation and site certification.
• Responsible for battery care to include charging and watering batteries and changing propane tanks as needed for procedure.
• Perform all activities safely.
• Promote plant goals such as safety, housekeeping, quality, GMP, AIB, ISO and SQF.
• Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by management that the employee has been trained to perform.
• Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
• Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
• Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
• Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non- Amcor employees and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information.
• Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
• Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
• Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
• Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.

Salary Requirements: $30-$34/hr
