Job summary

Goodwill Southeast Georgia is seeking a Day Shift Delivery Truck Driver to join our Savannah team. You will operate CDL-equipped routes within the local region, load/unload, and maintain logs daily.

Qualifications

• CDL license required (Class A) with clean driving record.
• Minimum 6–12 months of commercial truck driving experience.
• Ability to read and understand operating/safety instructions.
• Flexible schedule; weekend work may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Safeguard donated goods and company property.
• Maintain Vehicle Logs and daily Trip Sheets accurately.
• Provide basic supervision for Truck Helper as needed.
• Report mechanical issues to headquarters promptly.
• Report delays, accidents, or other transport issues.
• Load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers.
• Communicate with headquarters regularly.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections daily.
• Inspect tires, lights, brakes, oil, and fluids.

As a Day Shift Delivery Truck Driver, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Safeguarding company property, including donated goods
• Maintaining records such as Vehicle Logs and daily Trip Sheets
• Providing basic supervision for assigned Truck Helper
• Reporting any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
• Reporting delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to headquarters
• Loading and unloading trucks, vehicles, containers, and trailers.
• Maintaining appropriate communication with headquarters
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections on their assigned vehicle daily.
• Inspecting truck equipment and supplies (such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water).
• All other duties based on business needs.

We are an awesome place to work and care about our teams, so we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics that we expect:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
• CDL License
• Must be at least 25 years of age
• Minimum 6 -12 months commercial truck driving experience
• Valid Georgia Driver's License (Class A), with driving record acceptable to company's vehicle insurance standards
• Must be able to read operating and safety instructions
• Ability to effectively use a dolly, pallet jack and lift gate
• Flexible work schedule and regular attendance necessary
• Required to work weekends
