Job summary

Goodwill Southeast Georgia is hiring a Day Shift Delivery Truck Driver to support local routes with daytime hours Monday through Friday. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and customer service while handling donated goods and maintaining essential logs and inspections.

The ideal candidate has a GA Class A CDL, 25+ years old, 6–12 months of truck driving experience, and the ability to operate dolly, pallet jack, and lift gate. Training is provided and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Georgia Class A CDL required.
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• 6–12 months commercial truck driving experience preferred.
• Valid Georgia (GA) Class A driver’s license with insurability per company policy.
• Ability to read operating and safety instructions.
• Comfort with dolly, pallet jack, and lift gate.
• Flexible schedule; weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Safeguard donated goods and company property.
• Maintain Vehicle Logs and daily Trip Sheets.
• Provide basic supervision for Truck Helper.
• Report mechanical problems to headquarters.
• Report delays or accidents to headquarters.
• Load and unload trucks and associated equipment.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Communicate with headquarters regularly.

As a Day Shift Delivery Truck Driver, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Safeguarding company property, including donated goods
• Maintaining records such as Vehicle Logs and daily Trip Sheets
• Providing basic supervision for assigned Truck Helper
• Reporting any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
• Reporting delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to headquarters
• Loading and unloading trucks, vehicles, containers, and trailers.
• Maintaining appropriate communication with headquarters
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections on their assigned vehicle daily.
• Inspecting truck equipment and supplies (such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water).
• All other duties based on business needs.

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
• CDL License
• Must be at least 25 years of age
• Minimum 6 -12 months commercial truck driving experience
• Valid Georgia Driver's License (Class A), with driving record acceptable to company's vehicle insurance standards
• Must be able to read operating and safety instructions
• Ability to effectively use a dolly, pallet jack and lift gate
• Flexible work schedule and regular attendance necessary
• Required to work weekends
