Job description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites within a maximum of 200 miles from their home branch. Deliveries originate and end at the branch, with no overnight stays required.

3. Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
4. Lead job site safety by operating all equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
5. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
6. Validate and confirm inventory loaded on the truck, compare purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, verify addresses, and obtain routing information before leaving the branch
7. Conduct job site inspections, document any existing damage, and note the location of utilities and features like power lines, sprinklers, etc.
8. Capture pictures of all delivered building products following Company Policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, with experience operating forklifts or Moffett preferred
• Safe driving record with no recent hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are a plus
• Experience within distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials
• Pass a drug test, possess a current DOT medical certificate, and have no positive drug tests in the last 12 months
• Authorized to work in the U.S., U.S. citizen or pass an E-Verify check
