Job summary

Girtz Industries, Inc. seeks a delivery driver to operate gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailers and box trucks, delivering products in Monticello, Indiana. The role requires a valid CDL, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

You will read and follow instructions, maintain logs per ICC regulations, assist with loading/unloading, and perform additional duties as assigned. Training is provided; 1st shift, full-time on site.

Qualifications

• Must have a current valid CDL license.
• GED or 3–6 months related experience or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, manuals, memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients and employees.

• Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits a report.
• Maintains driver log according to ICC regulations.
• Assists with loading and unloading truck.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer, box truck, or flatbed combination to transport and deliver product loose or in packaged form.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a current valid CDL license.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 3 – 6 months related experience and / or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information customers, clients and other employees of the organization in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to effectively solve problems.
• Will be regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
• The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
