Job summary

Welch Packaging in Mount Joy, PA is seeking a CDL-A driver to safely operate a tractor-trailer or box truck, delivering finished products to customers in compliance with state and federal laws and company policies.

You will maintain your vehicle, follow DOT regulations, and contribute to on-time deliveries by following established routes. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDLA license required.
• Prior experience driving large vehicles such as box trucks or similar.
• Demonstrated safe driving practices and adherence to DOT regulations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to plan routes and deliver shipments on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
• Maintain vehicle in accordance with company policy.
• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.
• Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
• Comply with obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
• Comply with performance measures.

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
• Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy
• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CDLA License

Experience

• Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar
• Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices
• Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred
