Job summary

Building Supply of Manassas is seeking a truck driver to transport and deliver products and materials by tractor-trailer. You will inspect, log, load, unload, and assist with orders while maintaining customer satisfaction.

The role requires basic math, clear communication, and reliable attendance. You will coordinate with customers and team members to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Education or experience as described: a one-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience or training.
  • Ability to read safety rules and operating instructions; write routine reports; communicate effectively with customers or employees.
  • Mathematical skills include basic arithmetic, rates, ratios and percent; ability to interpret graphs.
  • Reasoning ability includes following instructions, solving problems, and using judgment in routine situations.

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to destination and delivers products or materials.
  • Inspects truck before and after trips and reports conditions.
  • Keeps driver log according to regulations.
  • Counts items on the truck to verify quantities and accuracy.
  • Assists with loading and unloading and supports coworkers.
  • Interacts with customers to complete orders and seeks feedback.

Job Description

Summary

Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Drives truck to destination.

Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.

Maintains driver log according to I.C. regulations.

Counts items on the truck when loading and unloading to secure proper amounts and material are correct.

Assists workers in loading and unloading truck.

Talks to customer and helps in anyway to complete order. Ask for feedback from customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
