Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Navigation and Compliance: Utilize location and road maps to navigate routes efficiently while adhering to truck driving rules and regulations, including size, weight, and designated routes. Ensure compliance with parking regulations and take required break periods during travel.
  • Pre-Inspection: Conduct thorough pre‑inspection of the flatbed trailer, equipment, and loads before departure to ensure safe operation. Check for any mechanical issues, load securement, and proper functioning of lights and brakes.
  • Load Verification: Pick up goods and materials from designated locations, verify loads for accuracy, and ensure proper documentation is in place for delivery.
  • Safe Cargo Handling: Safely load and unload cargo and equipment using flatbed trailers, following established procedures to prevent damage or accidents. Ensure proper securing of loads and use appropriate equipment like forward reach forklifts or warehouse forklifts as necessary.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Take responsibility for basic vehicle maintenance, including regular inspections, fluid checks, and addressing any issues promptly to ensure optimal performance of the tractor and trailer.
  • Paperwork Accuracy: Complete and verify all required paperwork accurately, including delivery receipts, bills of lading, and any other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding paperwork management.
  • Refueling: Perform refueling of construction field equipment and vehicles as needed to maintain operational efficiency during deliveries and pickups.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safe work practices, policies, and procedures to maintain a secure working environment. Follow proper safety protocols during loading, unloading, and transportation activities.
  • Incident Reporting: Immediately report any equipment defects, accidents, traffic violations, or safety hazards to appropriate authorities and supervisors. Maintain detailed records of incidents and follow company protocols for reporting.
  • Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility by performing other duties as assigned that are relevant to the position and meet the company's operational requirements. Adapt to changes in schedules, routes, or job responsibilities as needed.
