Job summary

Sterling Crane LLC is seeking a CDL Crane Operator at our Billings, MT location. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of a variety of cranes, adherence to procedures, and strong teamwork within Marmon’s Berkshire Hathaway-backed network.

You will inspect ground conditions, perform routine maintenance, and maintain records while working closely with ground personnel to meet customer needs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years experience with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes.
• Class A CDL required.
• Post offer drug and physical screens required and background checks per company policy.
• Dependable with flexible overtime; NCCCO Crane Operators License preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team oriented and collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes safely and efficiently per procedures and site rules.
• Inspect ground conditions and identify overhead hazards.
• Maintain equipment with daily checks and basic repairs.
• Keep logs and records of crane operations and safety checks.
• Maintain clear radio/visual communications with ground crew and supervisors.
