Job summary
Maranacook Community Adult Education in Readfield, ME is seeking a Full-Time CDL Class B Instructor to join our workforce development team. This role teaches adult learners pursuing their Class B CDL in both classroom and behind-the-wheel settings.
Ideal candidates hold a valid CDL Classroom and Road/Range Instructor License, have at least two years of manual Class B or Class A experience, and demonstrate strong communication, safety, and professional driving practices.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Classroom and Road/Range Instructor License
- Minimum of two years of experience driving a manually operated Class B or Class A commercial vehicle
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and professional driving practices
- Experience working with adult learners is preferred
Responsibilities
- Providing CDL classroom instruction that meets state and federal requirements
- Providing hands-on vehicle road and range driving instruction
- Teaching safe vehicle operation, inspection procedures and commercial driving practices
- Preparing students for their CDL written and road examinations
- Monitoring and documenting student progress
- Maintaining a safe and professional learning environment
- Ensuring instruction and training activities comply with applicable CDL and commercial driver training requirements
