Job summary

Ross Transportation Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced truck driver to safely operate tankers and other over-the-road equipment.

You will transport waste materials and general freight, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain accurate DOT logs and load documents while ensuring cargo security and timely delivery. The role requires reading and understanding bills of lading, maintaining professional communications with customers and teams, and willingness to travel overnight as needed.

Job description

• Safely operate trucks weighing over 26,000 lbs., including tankers, roll-offs, and vans.
• Transport and deliver waste materials and general freight.
• Complete pre-trip and required vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate DOT hours-of-service logs and load documentation.
• Secure cargo properly for transportation.
• Read and interpret bills of lading, manifests, and other shipping documents.
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
• Obtain required delivery receipts and signatures.
• Report accidents, vehicle defects, traffic violations, or damage according to company policy.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the truck, equipment, and PPE.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of current over-the-road tanker experience, including liquid tanker experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• Compliant Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) driving history.
• Ability to qualify for a DOT physical card and comply with DOT substance-abuse testing requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work 14-hour shifts, including additional hours and weekends as needed.
• Ability to travel overnight.
• Ability to safely use required PPE, including respiratory and chemical protective equipment.
• Ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating instructions, and related documentation.
