Job summary

Alabama Grading & Excavation is seeking a skilled Tack Truck Driver to safely operate a tack truck, keep it maintained, and support a growing Alabama crew. A Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required, plus 3–5 years in construction, grading, or roadwork is preferred.

You will load and handle tack/emulsion, follow DOT rules, complete safety checks, and help the crew as needed. The role is based in Alabama with outdoor fieldwork and heavy equipment exposure.

Qualifications

• Tack truck experience preferred.
• 3–5 years in construction, grading, or roadwork preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the tack truck safely and efficiently.
• Load and handle tack/emulsion correctly.
• Keep the truck clean, serviced, and ready to roll.
• Monitor material temperatures and maintain quality.
• Assist crew with tasks when the truck isn’t in use.
• Maintain a clean MVR and follow DOT rules.
• Complete daily safety checks and DVIR reports.
• Report repairs or repair needs immediately.
