Job summary

National Salvage & Service Corporation in the Birmingham, AL area is seeking an experienced Grapple Truck Knuckle Boom Loader Operator with a Class A CDL to join the Recycling Yard Team.

You will load trucks and rail cars, operate a knuckle boom log loader or grapple, complete daily paperwork, and work a Monday–Friday daytime schedule in an outdoor setting. A CDL-A and safety-conscious mindset are required.

This role involves outdoor work in all weather, with overtime and potential weekends.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating knuckle boom log loader or grapple.
• CDL Class A license required.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Willing to work long hours, overtime, and weekends in various weather conditions.
• Complete daily paperwork and adhere to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Picking up railroad ties and wood with rear-mounted log loader boom.
• Loading trucks or rail cars in a fast-paced environment.
• Operating a chainsaw.
• Removing debris at sites using log loader boom.
• Filling out daily paperwork and reporting.
• Use smartphone GPS and Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
