Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service is seeking a CDL Class A driver to fill in on open routes and support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM start, with 10-15 hours of overtime expected weekly and voluntary OT on weekends. Starting wage is $24.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience, with time-and-a-half OT after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Must be at least 21 years old; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR complete company-paid CDL training.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs.
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed.
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers.
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle.
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers and notify management of issues.
• Maintain professional personal appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments.
• Travel may be required.
• Perform other required duties as assigned.
