Job summary

Outdoor Escapes & Design in Murray, UT is seeking an experienced CDL Class A & Operator Specialist to operate heavy equipment and manage transport and bulk-material logistics across the Salt Lake Valley.

You will work with Project Managers and Foremen to ensure timely deliveries, site prep, and compliance with safety standards while supporting multiple job sites in the region. A minimum of four years of heavy equipment experience is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and current DOT Medical Card required.
• Minimum 4 years of verifiable heavy equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate mini-excavators, skid steers, track loaders, and dozers for grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling.
• Load, secure, and transport heavy machinery on lowboy trailers per DOT rules.
• Haul and dump bulk materials using Class A dump trucks.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on trucks and machines.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to schedule deliveries and site prep.

About the Role

Outdoor Escapes & Design, a premier landscape and outdoor living contractor, is seeking an experienced CDL Class A & Operator Specialist to join our team in Murray, UT.

This dual-impact role is key to our project success. You will manage job-site equipment operations and lead equipment transport and bulk material logistics across the Salt Lake Valley.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Expertly operate mini-excavators, skid steers, track loaders, and dozers for rough/finish grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling.
• Logistics & Transport: Safely load, secure, and transport heavy machinery on lowboy/equipment trailers to and from job sites in full compliance with DOT regulations.
• Material Hauling: Haul and dump bulk materials (dirt, aggregates, mulch) using Class A dump truck combinations.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance on assigned trucks and machinery.
• Site Coordination: Partner with Project Managers and Foremen to schedule and execute timely deliveries and site prep.
• Other: Other landscaping tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• License: Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and current DOT Medical Card (Required).
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of verifiable heavy equipment operation (skid steer and mini-excavator experience required).
• Hauling Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience hauling equipment and operating Class A dump trucks/trailers.
• DOT Expertise: Strong knowledge of load securement standards, weight limits, and DOT safety regulations.
• Flexibility: Ability to work early starts and overtime as project deadlines require.
