Job summary

BENJAMIN STEEL CO. seeks a Driver to operate tractor-trailers and straight trucks, transporting materials between plants, warehouses, and customer sites. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, plan routes, secure loads, and assist with loading/unloading as needed.

You must hold a valid Class A CDL, have driving experience, and can meet physical demands. Mechanical aptitude and DOT compliance are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL with driving experience.
• Mechanical background preferred.
• DOT physical exam card required.
• Four points or less on MVR.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport materials between plants, warehouses, and customer sites.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections daily.
• Plan routes for shortest, safest travel and proper load securing.
• Load/unload truck and assist in warehouse as needed.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and report any issues promptly.
• Communicate delays or issues to supervisor and customers as required.
