Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service is seeking a CDL Class A Driver (Transport) to efficiently move parcels between terminals. This role requires operating tractor-trailer combinations or straight trucks with a focus on safety and accuracy in pre-trip inspections and documentation.

Position offers $23.00-$27.00 per hour based on experience, with overtime after 40 hours and a 5.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm and 4:59am. Located in Wisconsin, full-time hours Monday–Friday evenings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• Doubles/triples endorsement preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure safety and equipment are in good order.
• Transport parcels between terminals via tractor-trailer or straight truck.
• Submit mileage and maintenance forms and pre-trip documentation.
• Maintain all required DOT and company safety certifications.
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 9:00PM Start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
• + $5.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm - 4:59am

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
