Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service in Saint Cloud, MN is seeking a CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) to operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck on an established route. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered to qualified applicants.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, starting at 12:30 PM, with 10–15 hours of overtime weekly. Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential; overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
• DOT physical clearance required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer or straight truck on established routes.
• Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Load freight at shippers and transport to the terminal.
• Transfer freight back to the terminal for unloading.
• Verify load-related documentation for accuracy.
• Maintain required certifications per DOT and company safety policies.
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily.
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels on an established route.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 12:30PM start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
  • $2.00 per hour shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive to shippers and load trailer with freight
• Transfer freight back to the terminal to be unloaded
• Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
