Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service seeks a CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) responsible for operating tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport parcels on an established route. The role starts with a 11:00 AM shift on Monday–Friday, with significant overtime and a pay rate of $23.00–$27.00 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities include performing pre-trip inspections, loading freight, documenting mileage and maintenance, and supporting other drivers as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
• Drive to shippers and load trailer with freight.
• Transfer freight back to the terminal to be unloaded.
• Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies.
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily.
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels on an established route.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 11:00AM Start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive to shippers and load trailer with freight

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
