Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A Driver (Transport) to move parcels between terminals. You'll start evenings, work overtime, and earn a $10,000 sign-on bonus with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.

Expect $23.00-$27.00 per hour, plus a $5.00 shift premium for starts between 5:00pm and 4:59am. Duties include inspections, routing, and assisting with loading, with benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid CDL Class A license.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Doubles/triples endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• Good driving record meeting company standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good order.
• Turn in pre-trip forms and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels.
• Maintain required certifications per DOT and company policies.
• Wash tractor and equipment daily.
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 8:00PM start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
• +$5.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm - 4:59am

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
