Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. in Mason City, IA is seeking a CDL Class A Driver. You will operate a tractor-trailer to move parcels between terminals, adhering to DOT safety rules and company policies.

Shifts start late evening with overtime expectations; pay ranges $28.00–$32.00 per hour plus a $5 shift premium for certain start times. Benefits include health/dental/life insurance and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspection to ensure safety and equipment are in good working order

• Maintain certifications as required by DOT and company policies
• Wash exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery or pickup as needed

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 9:00PM Start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
• +$5.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm - 4:59am

Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education And Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
