Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to safely transport freight to customers and distribution centers in the Northlake, IL area.

You will operate tractor-trailers, complete required inspections, secure cargo, maintain logs, and provide professional customer service while complying with DOT regulations. The position features rotating schedules with early or late start times and a starting pay of $28.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license required.
• DOT medical certification required.
• Hub to Hub experience required.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service.
• Ability to operate tractors and CMVs in varied conditions.
• Accurate logs and transportation records.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Strong safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work overtime and flexible schedules.
• English reading/writing required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A CMVs including tractor-trailers.
• Transport and deliver freight per routes and schedules.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
• Load, secure, inspect, and protect cargo.
• Comply with DOT regs and hours-of-service.
• Maintain logs, bills of lading, and inspection reports.
• Communicate with dispatch on routes and issues.
• Maneuver vehicles at docks, yards, and customer sites.
• Report accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Keep vehicle and work area clean and professional.
• Assist with loading/unloading freight when required.
