Job summary

R.B. Hinkle Construction is seeking a CDL Class A driver to safely operate tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and lowboys, hauling heavy equipment and materials to multiple job sites.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and maintain logs in compliance with DOT rules. The role requires at least 2 years of verifiable Class A experience, the ability to work independently or with a team on a fast-paced site, and strong communication with dispatch and project managers.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A experience in construction.
• Experience hauling heavy equipment and various materials.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and securing loads.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and ongoing testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles with a Class A CDL endorsement (tractor-trailers, dump trucks, lowboy trailers).
• Transport heavy equipment and materials to various job sites.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document defects.
• Load, secure, and balance loads per DOT regulations.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Maintain daily logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with dispatch and project managers about schedules and deliveries.
• Perform basic vehicle/equipment maintenance as needed.
• Assist with other construction duties on site when not driving.
