Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A Driver (LTL) to operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck, delivering and picking up palletized freight. Regular hours are Monday–Friday with a 7:30 AM start and 10–15 hours of overtime each week.

Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates must pass DOT and pre-employment drug screening and meet safety requirements; benefits include health, dental, life insurance, PTO,

Qualifications

Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Must possess good customer service and organizational skills.
Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions.

Responsibilities

Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers.
Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposes.
Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed.
