Job summary
Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck for delivering and picking up palletized freight and large shipments. The role requires a safe driving record and the ability to meet company standards.
The position is based in Illinois, with a schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM start, and 10-15 hours of overtime weekly. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible drivers, with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.
Qualifications
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
- Must possess good customer service and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Responsibilities
- Drive tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.
- Conduct pre-trip inspection and complete required forms.
- Deliver palletized freight to customers and pick up freight from shippers.
- Verify load-related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of lading to the office for billing.
