Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Relief Driver- CDL (B) to safely operate a collection truck on assigned routes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. You will perform vehicle inspections, load refuse, and service customers with courtesy each day.

The role requires adherence to safety policies, good time management, and the ability to follow routes and report on operations. Prior truck driving experience is preferred and benefits accompany a fulltime position.

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and service each customer.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Monitor waste to identify unacceptable materials and safety issues.
• Maintain readiness of vehicle to minimize downtime and keep areas clean after trips.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports as needed.
• Adhere to productivity standards to service customers promptly.
• Follow all safety policies and participate in ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
