Job summary

MTM Transit in Tehachapi, CA, is seeking a Driver to provide safe and reliable trolley operation in partnership with Kern Transit. You will uphold courtesy and professionalism, follow client and company procedures, and support mobility for riders in Tehachapi.

Qualified candidates must have a California CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsements, be 21+, and pass DOT and background checks. The position offers benefits including health, dental, 401(k), PTO, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid U.S. driver's license for past 5 years.
• California Class B CDL with passenger endorsements required.
• No felony convictions involving moral turpitude or narcotics within previous five years.
• No Reckless Driving or driving with a suspended license within the past 7 years and no more than 2 in a lifetime.
• No DUI or DWI convictions in the last 10 years.
• Must pass a DOT Physical and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must pass criminal background check and Motor Vehicle Record check.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle.
• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols.
• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer.
• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.
