Job summary

City of Bartlett's Public Works Department, Water/Wastewater, is hiring a Driver II to operate heavy equipment and support municipal maintenance. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and a stable schedule.

You will work as part of a crew, perform pipeline upkeep, hydrant and meter maintenance, and assist with form setting and pour concrete for repairs; a valid Class B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement is required, plus background and drug testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus three years of experience operating construction equipment with a high degree of skill.
• Must pass background screen, driver’s license verification and physical exam, including a drug test.
• Must hold a valid Class B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement and maintain it as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more pieces of heavy equipment (backhoe, track hoe, excavator, grader, bulldozer, loader) with skill.
• Load, transport, and dump materials such as sand, pavement, dirt, and gravel; secure loads on heavy trailers.
• Inspect and perform minor repairs on equipment; adjust and lubricate as needed.
• Locate water/sewer lines, operate valves, and perform hydrant and meter maintenance.
• Set up barricades, flag traffic, and assist with concrete work and form setting for repairs.
