Job summary

City of Enid seeks a Utility Maintenance worker to assist in preserving and maintaining water and wastewater systems. The role supports the Heavy Equipment Operator and other staff, performing routine maintenance, inspections, and on-call duties.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and licenses such as Class D Water/Wastewater; CDL when applicable, with on-the-job training to reach required certifications. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or six months related experience.
• Class D Wastewater license within 6 months.
• Class D Water license within 6 months.
• Class B CDL within 9 months.
• Confined Space Certification within 3 months.
• Trenching & Shoring Training within 6 months.
• Maintain 4 hours of continuing education annually.

Responsibilities

• Pull hose and operate jet nozzle for sewer cleaning under supervision.
• Assist with operation of CCTV equipment under supervision.
• Assist with installation and repair of utility systems.
• Set barricades and traffic cones to reroute traffic.
• Measure distances to determine pipe sizes and locations.
• Operate power equipment (generators, air compressors, etc.) to maintain systems.
• Use hand tools to perform daily maintenance of equipment.
• Transport equipment with trucks and loaders.
• Respond to customer call-ins and complaints.
