Job summary

Freestore Foodbank in Cincinnati is seeking a Full Time CDL-B Driver to transport food donations between donors, the Foodbank, and partner agencies. You will ensure safe handling, accurate documentation, and timely deliveries in compliance with safety standards.

The role requires a valid Class B CDL with Air Brake endorsement, forklift experience or certification within 30 days, and a commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with Air Brake endorsement.
• Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification within 30 days.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices, food safety standards, and transportation regulations.
• Ability to apply defensive driving techniques while transporting goods.
• Pre-service vehicle safety checks on key equipment before each route.
• Basic math and documentation skills for delivery/inventory records.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating a Class B vehicle.
• Experience in warehouse, logistics, or food distribution preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and secure food products while maintaining safety/quality standards.
• Complete required transportation, receiving, and delivery documentation.
• Follow all regulations (DOT, Feeding America, USDA) and policies.
• Provide excellent customer service to donors, partners, volunteers, and community members.
• Report damaged or non-compliant products to support waste reduction.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles.
• Support special deliveries and community events as needed.
• Collaborate with logistics staff and leadership to support operations.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
