Job summary

Bartlett Dairy inc is looking for a CDL B Driver Apprentice to safely operate a 26-foot straight truck and deliver dairy products across New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut on assigned routes.

Training is provided under a licensed trainer; must be willing to commute to Newark, NJ for training and work weekends/holidays with variable start times. EOE, pay $27.50/hr plus benefits.

Qualifications

• No commercial driving experience required; training is provided through our apprentice program.
• Valid Class A or Class B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products according to route schedules and time windows.
• Safely operate a 26-foot straight truck under trainer supervision.
• Unload merchandise using hand trucks or equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations and company policies.
• Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Safely handle products during loading, delivery and unloading.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a CDL B Driver Apprentice, you will safely operate a 26-foot straight truck while delivering and unloading dairy products for customers throughout New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut based on assigned routes. Training is completed under the supervision of an experienced company driver. This position requires overtime, flexibility towork on weekends and holidays, with varying morning start times, to meet customer delivery needs. Must be willing to commute to our Newwark, NJ location for training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver products according to assigned route schedules and delivery time windows
• Safely operate a 26-foot straight truck under the supervision of an experienced company trainer
• Unload merchandise using hand trucks and other approved equipment
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies and procedures
• Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures
• Provide excellent customer service and respond professionally to customer needs during deliveries
• Safely handle products throughout the loading, delivery, and unloading process

REQUIREMENTS:

• No commercial driving experience required; training is provided through our apprentice program
• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Ability to present a valid, unexpired interstate DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
• Ability to complete the company’s pre-employment process, which may include in-person interview, skills assessments, drug testing, employment verification andbackground check
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying morning start times
