Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a professional driver to transport hazardous waste and related materials to and from customer sites in Missouri. You will load/unload, operate vacuum and box trucks as needed, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

This full-time role requires a valid CDL B with air brakes and tanker endorsement, the ability to drive manual transmission, and willingness to overtime or weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Safe driving and operation: perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maneuver trucks safely.
  • Cargo handling: load, unload, and secure hazardous waste cargo per safety rules.
  • Documentation: maintain logs, manifests, and service records complying with regulations.
  • Defect reporting: promptly report mechanical issues or incidents to supervision.
  • Customer service: communicate professionally with customers and staff; ensure proper paperwork.
  • Site and equipment care: keep vehicles clean and report issues to management.
  • Support and teamwork: assist training and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

This driver will transport, remove, deliver, and collect various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from various customer sites. Will be required to load and unload trucks. They will also have the ability to operate a variety of truck and equipment including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and any other equipment that fits their license on site if necessary.

Pay: $25/hour + Commission

Key Responsibilities
  • Safe Driving & Operation: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, roadworthiness, and proper mechanical condition; maneuver trucks safely into loading/unloading positions.
  • Cargo Handling & Securement: Safely load, unload, and secure all liquid and solid hazardous waste cargo in compliance with safety standards and weight/dimension regulations.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate driver logs, manifests, bills of lading, and service records in full compliance with state, federal, DOT, and safety regulations.
  • Defect & Incident Reporting: Promptly report any mechanical issues, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage to supervision.
  • Customer Service & Communication: Maintain professional communication with co-workers, customers, and the public; ensure timely, courteous deliveries and proper paperwork sign-offs.
  • Site & Equipment Care: Keep vehicles clean, ensure any loading/unloading debris is promptly cleared, and report delivery or customer issues to management.
  • Support & Teamwork: Assist in training team members when required and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid CDL B with airbrakes
  • Tanker Endorsement Required
  • Must be able to operate manual with no restrictions
  • Overtime as required.
  • Weekend work may be required, on call schedule in effect on weekly basis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required.
