Job summary

Kenco Logistics in Austin, TX seeks a Yard Driver with a CDL A to safely manage trailer movements in the yard and warehouse areas. The role includes yard spotting, forklift use, and inspections of yard equipment to ensure smooth operations.

Candidates should hold a valid Class A CDL with driving experience, pass DOT requirements, and be willing to work in varied weather. This position emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork in a dynamic 3PL environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Class A CDL with 2 years of driving experience.
• Minimum of six months related experience or training in a distribution environment.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug screen and background check.
• Willing to work in inclement weather as needed.
• No accidents and no more than two minor moving violations in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Back trailers into dock/yard spaces safely, engage dock locks, chocks, and deploy trailer stands.
• Park and organize trailers in the warehouse yard.
• Mount/dismount yard spotter; slide trailer tandems as needed.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractor and complete DVIRs.
• Use YMS or applicable tools to coordinate inbound/outbound trailer movements.
• Operate a forklift to move shipments between trailer movements.
• Coordinate trailer movements with the office clerk to minimize downtime.
• Report unsafe conditions, injuries or damages to management.
• Follow company policy and required trainings; keep equipment clean.
