Job summary

Kenco is seeking a Yard Driver to safely move trailers in the yard and operate a forklift as needed. You will back trailers into docks, park and organize units, and perform routine DVIRs on yard tractors. Expect daily coordination with office staff and adherence to safety policies.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least 1 year of spotting experience. Forklift experience is preferred and a mandatory background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable spotting experience.
• Minimum of six months related experience or training in a distribution environment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must pass company physical, drug screen and background check.
• Willing to work in inclement weather, if necessary.
• No accidents and no more than two minor moving violations for the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Back trailers into dock/yard spaces, engage dock locks or chocks, and deploy trailer stands.
• Park and organize trailers on the warehouse yard.
• Mount and dismount the yard spotter and slide trailer tandems when needed.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractor and complete DVIRs.
• Use YMS to coordinate inbound/outbound trailer movements.
• Assist refueling of yard tractors and operate forklift to move shipments.
• Coordinate trailer movements with office staff and prioritize tasks to minimize downtime.
• Follow company policy, participate in trainings, and keep equipment clean.
• Complete all system and manual reports accurately and timely.
• Operate all equipment safely and report any unsafe conditions or damage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
