Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Yard Driver to safely move and park trailers in the yard in Perris, CA. The role may include operating a forklift and performing pre/post-trip inspections, with emphasis on safety and timely trailer movements.

Ideal candidates will have a valid driver’s license, 1 year spotting experience, and at least 6 months in a distribution setting; forklift experience is preferred. This is an on-site position with comprehensive benefits and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• At least 1 year of verifiable spotting experience in a distribution environment.
• Six months related experience or training in a distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Back trailers into dock/yard spaces and engage dock locks/chocks, deploy trailer stands for all trailers spotted to the dock.
• Park and organize trailers on the yard.
• Operate yard spotter and slide trailer tandems solo.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractor and complete DVIRs.
• Use YMS to manage inbound/outbound trailer movements.
• Assist refueling of yard tractors.
• Coordinate with office clerk on trailer movements.
• Prioritize movements to avoid downtime for warehouse staff.
• Complete system and manual reports/logs accurately and timely.
• Maintain safe operation of all equipment and report unsafe conditions.
