Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions in Chicago, IL is seeking a driver/yard associate to move loads around the yard and to customer sites. Youll back trailers to dock doors, verify loads, and help load/unload products up to 50 lbs.

Youll operate pallet jacks, manual jacks, and forklifts, and perform pre/post-trip inspections. A Class A license, DOT medical card, clean MVR, and ability to work in all weather are required.

Qualifications

• Class A license required.
• Current DOT medical card.
• No DUI/DWI or major driving violations in past 5 years.
• MVR review required prior to interview.
• Able to lift 35 pounds and move loads up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Move loads around yard and to customer sites.
• Back up trailers to dock doors with precision.
• Verify loads for accuracy and deliver as instructed.
• Operate pallets jacks, manual jacks, and forklifts.
• Assist loading/unloading truck with product up to 50 lbs.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic maintenance.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Move loads around the truck yard and to customer sites as needed
• Ability to back up trailers to dock doors, often with other trailers on either side of the dock
• Verify loads for accuracy and deliver as instructed
• Use of other warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, manual jacks and forklifts
• Help customer and producer site with loading and unloading truck with product up to 50 lbs
• Basic vehicle maintenance, clean out truck before or after moving
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections

Requirements

• Class A
• Good customer service & teamwork skills
• Good physical condition; must be able to get in and out of trucks several times per day
• Able to work in all types of environments, including inclement weather
• Good backing skills
• Recent verifiable, driving experience or related
• Current DOT medical card
• No DUI/DWI, Careless/Reckless driving citations or revoked/suspended license in the past 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
• MVR required for interview (current, dated within 30 days of application)
• Prior to employment, able to pass a complete DOT physical, drug screen, criminal background check and road test
• Available for any shift.
• Able to lift 35 pounds.
• Work jobs that have repetitive motion.
• Follow safe work practices and rules.
• Able to prove they have a right to work in the United States.
• Successfully pass a physician's examination, drug screen and background check.
• Willing to have a baseline audiometric test
• Prefer high school graduates or GEDs
• Sufficient work experience to be successful on the job

Pay

The range is $26.51-27.99 per hour. Exact salary offered will depend on candidate's experience, work location, skills, etc.
