Job summary

CJ Hughes Construction in Louisville, KY is seeking a CDL-A or CDL-B Truck Driver to support our water and sewer construction crews. This role combines driving with laboring on outdoor sites, handling underground line installation and repair.

You will operate dump trucks and hauling equipment, perform pre-shift inspections, ensure load safety, and collaborate with crew members to meet project deadlines. A valid CDL and ability to pass drug tests are required; overtime and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of underground utility markings and locator systems.
• Ability to operate vehicles around workers, equipment, and utilities.
• Ability to secure loads and operate hauling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL-required vehicles (dump trucks, trailers, haulers >26,000 lbs).
• Haul equipment, pipe, materials, and debris to job sites.
• Load, unload and secure materials with straps and tarps.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections and maintain driver logs.
