Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is hiring for a driver responsible for transporting waste from WMHS locations or customer sites to transfer or processing facilities. The role requires a CDL Class A, at least 1 year of driving experience, and ability to communicate in English. Immunization and medical card requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of related experience driving heavy vehicles (at least 5 tons) preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to interact with the public and complete records.
• May require immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or Class 1/A-Z license.
• All CMV/CDL drivers must obtain a medical card from a certified medical examiner.
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited).

Responsibilities

• Transport waste from WMHS location or customer to transfer/processing location.
• Plan daily routes based on needs and review paperwork (manifest, route sheets, etc.).
• Operate vehicle safely, secure loads and comply with regulations.
• Maintain legible, accurate paperwork and debrief with supervisor.
• Communicate issues or changes to Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
