Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Akron, OH is seeking a Class A CDL driver to operate heavy trucks safely, perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and deliver to designated destinations.

You will log routes, interact with customers professionally, use a skid steer as needed, and work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Valid DOT medical card and clean driving record required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand a map.
• Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck in a safe manner following regulations and company policies to ensure timely pick up and delivery of trailers.
• Routinely enter/exit truck multiple times daily.
• Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete DVIR logs.
• Visually inspect proper load securement.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck cab and update route logs.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Load bales with a skid steer and ramps into 53ft van trailers as needed.
• Log bale counts and stops using a mobile app.
• Operate heavy equipment to load trailers as needed.
• Assist Roll Off line of business by operating Roll Off truck as needed.
• Haul leachate as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
