Job summary

NEW Cooperative, Inc. in Lamoni, IA seeks a CDL driver to move grain and other products with hopper trailers, ensuring safety and DOT compliance. You will perform inspections, logs, and routine maintenance while upholding our safety culture and customer service standards.

The role requires a Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsements and a commitment to the farm-supply business during peak seasons, including extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsement.
• DOT physical every 2 years or as required by law.
• High school diploma or GED with 1-3 months of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Understand seasonality of the farm supply business and in-season time commitment.
• Interact and communicate with customers and individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Possesses problem solving capability and understands operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Drives trucks to move grain with hopper and other products to designated locations.
• Comply with DOT, OSHA, and NEW Cooperative safety programs and policies.
• Maintain safe and courteous driving habits and complete logs and documentation accurately.
• Perform and schedule repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles; inspect daily.
• Assist in other areas of the location as needed.
• Work extended hours as requested by supervisor to ensure good customer service in busy season.
