Job summary

SMS group Inc. in Warren, MI is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to support customer operations. Mostly local driving with some OTR; home daily. You’ll load/unload with an overhead crane, maintain the vehicle and records, and be eligible for a $2500 signing bonus, overtime, and a comprehensive benefits package.

The role requires an afternoon shift, weekends, overtime, and cross-training on other jobs when not trucking. A valid CDL and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and an excellent driving record.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Safety minded, drug free, dependable with excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Drive 50 ft, 6-8 axle flatbed semi-trailers.
• Load/unload using an overhead crane, including chaining and tarping loads.
• Maintain the vehicle and records.

The right candidate will...

• Have experience driving 50 ft, 6-8 axel flatbed semi-trailers
• Be capable of loading/unloading using an overhead crane, including chaining and tarping the load
• Demonstrate ability to maintain the vehicle and records
• Be able to work afternoon shift, including weekends and overtime
• Be willing to cross-train on other jobs when not trucking

What you’ll need...

• A valid Class A CDL driver's license and an excellent driving record
• Have a H.S. Diploma or equivalent
• A safety minded worker who is drug free, dependable, and able to maintain an excellent attendance record

• $2500 SIGNING BONUS (one time)
• Overtime pay for hours over 8 in a day/40 per week. Double-time on Sunday/Holidays plus Holiday pay
• Mostly local driving. Some OTR but home every day
