Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to support customer operations in Michigan. You will operate 50 ft, 6-8 axle flatbed trailers, load and unload with an overhead crane, and maintain vehicle records while staying safety-focused.

The role offers mostly local driving with some OTR, home daily, and a comprehensive benefits package including a signing bonus, paid time off, and a 401k with company match. Overtime and weekend work are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with an excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Safety-minded, drug-free with excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Drive 50 ft, 6-8 axle flatbed trailers.
• Load/unload using an overhead crane, including chaining and tarping loads.
• Maintain vehicle and records.
• Work afternoon shift, including weekends and overtime.
• Cross-train on other jobs when not trucking.

The right candidate will...

• Have experience driving 50 ft, 6-8 axel flatbed semi-trailers
• Be capable of loading/unloading using an overhead crane, including chaining and tarping the load
• Demonstrate ability to maintain the vehicle and records
• Be able to work afternoon shift, including weekends and overtime
• Be willing to cross-train on other jobs when not trucking

What You'll Need...

• A valid Class A CDL driver's license and an excellent driving record
• Have a H.S. Diploma or equivalent
• A safety minded worker who is drug free, dependable, and able to maintain an excellent attendance record

• $2500 SIGNING BONUS (one time)
• Overtime pay for hours over 8 in a day/40 per week. Double-time on Sunday/Holidays plus Holiday pay
• Mostly local driving. Some OTR but home every day
