Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Trainee Component Driver in Dubuque, IA. The role trains the essential functions of a Driver, including distribution to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations as part of development into a full Driver role.

During orientation, pay is $18.00 per hour (for 2 days). After training, pay increases to $28.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, FSA/HSA, life insurance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave from day one,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Communicate with customers, management, and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect equipment for defects pre/post trip and document DOT inspections.
• Record deliveries and product temperatures; ensure secure transport.
• Occasionally unload and deliver product to customer premises.
• Provide on-time, undamaged product delivery and resolve customer credits.
