Job summary

American Driver is hiring new CDL graduates for a paid mentorship program. If you have a valid CDL-A, you can join a 4–6 week paid mentorship to learn real-world OTR driving with an experienced mentor.

You'll receive guaranteed weekly pay during training and transition to solo pay rates immediately upon completion. Orientation is paid ($300) and includes hotel and transport support, with full benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card.
• Graduated from an accredited CDL school (120+ hours) OR have under 6 months of recent OTR experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Able to pass a standard background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Complete 4 to 6 weeks paid mentorship and learn real-world OTR driving with a mentor.
• Transition directly to full solo pay rates after program completion.
• Guaranteed weekly pay during training with no low mileage penalties or deductions.

EQUIPMENT & FREIGHT

• Assigned Equipment: 2022 or newer Kenworth or Freightliner (automatic, equipped with APU).
• No Slip-Seating: Once assigned, the truck is yours—you don't move your gear every week.
• 100% No-Touch Freight: Dry van loads, approximately 70% drop-and-hook.
• 2,200 to 2,800 miles per week average across East of I-35 lanes.

SCHEDULE

• 12 Days Out / 2 Days Home: True OTR setup. Stable, predictable home time rotations.
