Job summary

Clayton is a leading home builder seeking a Class A CDL Driver – Toter Driver to join our team. Reports to the Terminal Manager and collaborates with Driver Supervisors, Home Center Team, Manufacturing Team, and Pilot Escorts to move oversize and overweight loads safely.

The ideal candidate is a senior driver with a Class A CDL, strong driving record, and ability to manage permits, paperwork, and daily logs while maintaining a professional vehicle appearance.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A CDL with extensive experience as a senior driver.
• Ability to coordinate daily permits and load planning with supervisors.
• Maintain proper and accurate paperwork and a professional vehicle appearance.

Responsibilities

• Safe and effective transportation of oversized loads within the region.
• Safe operation of equipment including daily maintenance checks and logs.
• Operate and maintain equipment to meet DOT standards.
• Coordinate permits and load selection with supervisors and escort drivers.
• Coordinate pickup of scheduled oversized loads.
• Coordinate delivery and placement at retail locations.
• Provide route information and best practices to the oversized load team.
• Return to the terminal with completed delivery paperwork timely.
• Carry out end-of-shift cleanup procedures and vehicle/equipment servicing.
• Report traffic accidents or load damages to authorities and supervisor team promptly.
• Provide world class customer experience during over-the-road and delivery operations.
