Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a safety-focused Tanker Operator with a Class A CDL to transport cement from terminals to SRM plants. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and communicate with dispatch while upholding DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card.
• Tanker endorsement is helpful, but not required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to SRM plant locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Accurately complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork in line with DOT regulations.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch to receive delivery instructions and provide updates on route progress.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement, preventing spillage or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide exceptional customer service at delivery sites, representing SRM Concrete with professionalism.
• Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
• Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
